Immunization

The Communicable Disease Control Program serves to prevent and control the spread of communicable diseases in the western region.

The Communicable Disease Control staff provide health education and consultation to staff, community agencies, and health professionals in the prevention, control, treatment, and management of communicable diseases that includes:

  • Providing publicly funded immunization programs for vaccine preventable diseases.
  • The reporting and  surveillance of known and emerging diseases.
  • Investigating cases of communicable diseases.
  • Managing disease outbreaks.
